Hey Traders,
Can you believe we’re halfway through the year?
Tomorrow’s the Fourth of July — a day to celebrate independence, freedom, and the American spirit.
And it got me thinking…
Because when I look back at everything I’ve done in my trading career, I realize that’s the one thing I’ve been chasing all along:
Independence.
Trading Is the Best Job in the World
I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again — being an independent trader is the best job I’ve ever had.
No boss. No commute. No employees.
Just me, my screens, my system… and my freedom.
But it didn’t happen overnight.
You’ve Got the Talent — Now Build the Discipline
Here’s the truth: anyone can learn to trade.
Most people already have the talent and potential.
What stops them?
They don’t have the discipline — or they don’t stick with it long enough to develop it.
To trade independently — to really live off this — you need:
- A system that works
- The discipline to follow that system
- And the mental and emotional toughness to show up every day and do the work
That’s the part nobody talks about.
What It Really Takes
If you want to be independent, you’ve got to be:
- Persistent
- Stubborn in a good way
- Mentally tough
- Emotionally tough
- Relentless
- Hard to discourage
You need to have that “I’m not giving up” energy — even when you take a loss, even when you feel stuck, even when nothing’s working the way it should.
Because the stock market?
It’ll pay you — as much as you want — if you’re willing to work for it.
Final Thought
So yeah, I’m all in on fireworks and flag waving tomorrow.
But let’s not forget: freedom doesn’t come easy — not in life, and not in trading.
It’s something you earn.
And if you’re serious about becoming an independent trader, I’m telling you — it’s worth every bit of the fight.
Trade well,
Jack Carter
P.S. Have I told you about the time I shocked a trading veteran with the unique way I trade TSLA?
