Don’t Let a Shiny Stock Derail You

Hey Traders,

I know it’s tempting out there.

Every time you turn around, there’s another flashy headline — the latest AI breakthrough, a hot new quantum computing play, or some obscure biotech stock everyone on Reddit is pumping.

And sure, it’s exciting. But if you want to be consistent in the market — and not just get lucky here and there — you’ve got to learn to tune that noise out.

It’s Not About the Stock

Here’s something I’ve learned over the years: strategy selection is more important than stock selection.

Everybody wants to chase the next hot ticker. But the real edge comes from having a repeatable system — and then having the discipline to stick with it.

If you’ve got a strategy with a solid win rate, good profit potential, and a rhythm that fits your lifestyle? That’s gold. Especially if you’ve got a full-time job and can’t be glued to the screen all day.

It’s not about finding the perfect trade.

It’s about finding a strategy that works — and then working the strategy.

Stop the Strategy Hopping

You wouldn’t believe how often I see this.

Guy sends me an email… tells me he tried one trade, it didn’t work out, and now he’s asking for a different strategy.

Really?

You’re going to abandon the whole system after one loss?

That’s like taking one swing at a batting cage, missing, and deciding baseball isn’t for you.

If you keep jumping around — strategy to strategy, stock to stock — you’re going to burn through your account and have nothing to show for it.

Play the Long Game

Let me tell you something: strategies don’t work because they’re perfect.

They work because they give you an edge. A small statistical advantage that plays out over time.

That’s the whole rub.

If you jump ship the moment it doesn’t work instantly, you’ll never get to see that edge do its job.

So this is your reminder: Stick to your system.

Ignore the hype. Pick a strategy that fits your life. And give it the consistency it deserves.

That’s how you win over time.

Trade well,
Jack Carter

P.S. Need a strategy to stick with? Here’s one that has a 10 year historical track record.
