Hey traders,
You’ve heard me say it before — but I’ll say it louder today: this is the single best time I’ve ever seen to be an option seller.
Why? Because the market is pumping out fat premiums like never before.
NVDA’s “Big Miss”
Take Nvidia as an example. I talked about this in more detail 2 days ago.
Heading into earnings, the options market was pricing in an 8% move for NVDA stock. That’s huge.
But when the stock didn’t move anywhere near that, anybody who bought calls or puts got crushed.
Meanwhile, the sellers — the folks on the other side of those trades — collected premium hand over fist.
And it’s not just Nvidia. Across the board, I’m seeing premiums at levels I’ve never seen in my 40 years in this game.
My IBIT Assignment
But I’m not just talking about earnings plays. Let me give you a personal example:
I sold a naked put on IBIT and got assigned shares at 65. Now, the stock’s trading lower than that — which might sound like bad news.
But here’s the beauty of selling options in this environment: even though the stock dipped, I was still able to turn around and sell the 70-strike call this morning for a juicy premium.
That means I’m pulling in income on a stock that’s under my entry price. And I can keep doing that, week after week, while I wait for the stock to recover.
That’s the kind of flexibility option sellers have right now. Even when the trade doesn’t look perfect on the surface, you can still line up steady paydays.
What That Means for Traders
If you’re out there buying options, you’re fighting an uphill battle. The cost is simply too high, and unless the stock makes a monster move, you’re left holding the bag.
But if you’re selling options? You’re the one getting paid up front. You’re taking advantage of inflated prices and letting time decay do the heavy lifting.
That’s why I’m pounding the table on this: it’s an option seller’s market.
The Takeaway
The market’s job is to scare people into overpaying for protection or speculation. Right now, it’s doing that job better than ever.
If you know how to sell options the right way — with discipline, proper strikes, and smart position sizing — the odds are stacked in your favor.
I’ve never seen premiums this juicy. And I don’t want you to miss out.
Trade well,
Jack Carter
